Linda Dean Obituary

Linda Lou Dean, 66, of Lodi, California went home to the Lord on March 12, 2012. She was born in McClusky, North Dakota to Walter and Esther Dockter on August 14, 1945. Linda moved to Lodi her junior year in high school, meeting the love of her life, Timothy Wayne Dean, her senior year. She graduated from Lodi High School, and married her honey, Tim. Linda spent most of her career working at Wright's Stationers in Lodi, starting out as a clerk and eventually becoming the store manager. She was known as a caring and loving supervisor to everyone she worked with. Next, Linda helped run Dean and Dean Investigations, keeping the books. Her final and most joyous job was that of Bibi to her grandchildren, Lori and Cooper Scheideman. Bibi was known to drop everything to spend time just as the kids wanted, and they were the light of her life. Linda enjoyed spending her time out on the Delta with her husband, filling weekends and trips with fun and laughter as they made numerous lifetime friends. Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Duane Dockter; parents, Esther and Walter Dockter; daughter, Lori Lynne Dean; and nephew, Stephen Versic. She is survived by her dedicated and loving husband, Timothy W. Dean; daughter, Shelby Dean Scheideman (Troy); grandchildren Lori and Cooper Scheideman; and sister, Debi Taylor (Joe); as well as by many beloved in-laws, nieces and nephews. Linda was mother to many, especially during the teen years of her own daughters and will be greatly missed. She showed care for all and was never known to say a bad thing of another person. Her gentle, strong spirit was an example of strength and perseverance during the challenges of life. A Celebration of Life will be held at Lodi Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with a brief committal to follow at Lodi Cemetery on Pine Street. There is no visitation. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Tim, I am so sorry about your lose, Linda and I lost touch years ago when I moved to Oregon, we both grew up in ND and our dads were cousins, When Linda first moved to Lodi she lived with us for a short time, we graduated together. I have so many wonderful memories of our teen years together, she helped me stay grounded, or at least she tried! I am so sad I missed the chance to see her one more time, God be with you and your family! Love, Lois Harris (Wahl)

I was so saddened to hear of Linda's passing, we were high school friends. We lost touch after high school and would see her occasionally at Wrights when I would go in to buy cards. We would chat and catch up.
This is a hard time for Tim and his family and my prayer is for God to hold you in his hand and give you peace.
Your friend Karen (Carleton) Weegens

For ten years, Linda Dean was the store manager, that I worked under, at Wrights Stationers. I learned so much from her during that period. Simply put, Linda Dean was one of the finest human beings I have ever known. She was kind, intelligent and had such a strong moral compass. Over the years, whenever I was at work and had a difficult ethical decision to make, I would ask myself "how would Linda have handled this?" Linda always knew how to handle people and their problems with kindness and professionalism. She carried that over in her personal life as well. Working with her always felt more like working with family, because of how she treated everyone.

To Tim and Shelby, I send you both so much love. I know nothing can erase the pain of this loss, but know that Linda was truly one of a kind and that everyone whose life she touched, was so much the richer for it.
