Lorenzo Ramirez Perales

1935 - 2015

Lorenzo Ramirez Perales, born September 5, 1935 in Harlingen, Texas to Leandro H. Perales and Gregoria R. Perales, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones after a lengthy illness on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the age of 80. Lorenzo was a lifelong mechanic who began his career as a truck driver transporting produce and farm workers to different states. It was during this time that he met the love of his life Elsa Urrea. They married in Seymour, Texas on November 18, 1959. They moved to California in January of 1960 and began their family.
He was a devoted family man who loved classic cars and gardening and singing. In his later years he attended Lakeview Assembly church and was well known in the Acampo community for selling giant sweet watermelons every summer.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by his parents and his son Lorenzo Perales Jr. He is survived by his devoted wife Elsa Urrea Perales; and seven children Blanca Malaspina (Wayne), Rodolfo Perales, Arturo Perales (Kathi), Felipe Perales, Julian Perales, Elsa Carpenter (Brian), and Maria Eugenia Charles (Simon); his two brothers; Alberto Perales and Joaquin Perales, and four sisters; Beatriz Rodriguez, Eugenia Perales, Maria M. Cavazos, and Maria Del Refugio Trevino, twenty-one grandchildren and six great grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lorenzo is greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
An open memorial will be held on Thursday, October 1st, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Lakeview Assembly, 2111 Quail Lakes Drive, Stockton, CA.
