Richard Crosse Obituary

Richard Arnold Crosse, Jr., 56, passed away suddenly on November 1, 2011 in Valley Springs, CA due to an accident while out enjoying a ride on his Harley Davison motorcycle. Richard was born on December 3, 1954 in Chicago, IL to Richard and Adelle Crosse. His family moved to California when Richard was four years of age. Richard met the love of his life, Jackie Leach, in 1975 and they were soon married, living in Lodi and lovingly raising their daughter, Michelle. Michelle later blessed Richard and Jackie with three beautiful grandchildren, Taylor, Ricky and Scotty.
Richard wore numerous hats throughout his life. He worked as an installer for Robinson Insulation; in pest control for Terminix and then ZAP; and finally, as a truck driver for Redfearn Trucking and, for the past three and a half years, with WinCo. Regardless of where Richard worked or resided, he and Jackie always made long lasting friendships and he will be sorely missed. Richard enjoyed spending time with friends & family, particularly with his wife, Jackie, working in their yard, riding his motorcycle, maintaining his vehicles, and being the go-to guy for anyone in need.
In addition to his wife, Jackie; daughter, Michelle; and his grandchildren, Richard is survived by his mother, Adelle Crosse; Adelle's longtime companion, Bill Brown; sister, Faith Urpa (Ray); sister-in-law, Kristy Tuell (Wayne); and brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Leach (Lisa) and David Robinson (Penny). Richard also leaves behind his many beloved nieces and nephews: Johnny, Tia, Eric, Lea, Kirsti, Julie (Tom), Timothy (Britany), Clint, Katherine, Samantha, Kaitlyn, Megan, Andrew, Macy and their children. Richard was preceded in death by his father, Richard Sr., and his brother, John.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held this Friday, November 11, 2011, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 221 S. Church Hill Road in San Andreas, CA. A reception will take place at the church immediately following the service. Richard will then be driven to his final resting place at Cherokee Memorial Park located at Highway 99 & Harney Lane in Lodi, CA. The graveside service will begin at 1:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend. During this service, anyone wishing to share a fond memory of Richard will be invited to do so. He was a fun loving man, who loved to laugh, so smile-provoking memories are encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, a trust account has been set up in remembrance of Richard Crosse for the future educational pursuits of his treasured grandchildren. If you would like to remember Richard in this manner, please contact Joanne at the Bank of Rio Vista in Valley Springs, CA, 209-772-0987.
Rest in peace, Richard Crosse, and know that your memory will live on in those fortunate enough to have called you husband, father, son, brother, Papa, uncle, and friend.

Richard was a great friend to my family and will be greatly missed. The angels have just received a great addition. I lost my mother in June and I know she is happy to have a friend up there with her. Our prayers are with the family.

I will miss your laugh. I will miss your happy smile. I think I was one of the first kids in our family that you got to tease (I was only 8 when Jackie brought you home) Thank you for taking care of my sister. I will see you in eternity.
