I had Mr. Mitchell for my Government teacher when I was a senior at Lodi High. I always remember him as a very fair teacher. When JFK was shot in November of 1963 someone came to our class and handed him a note. He never said a word but turned on the tv so we could all watch it in real time. I don´t think that he could trust himself to speak. Such a sad time. We also attended the same church and one day he asked me if I could just call him Tom instead of Mr.Mitchell. I told him no, that he would always be Mr. Mitchell. I´m sure he has a great audience to tell his corny jokes to now.

Mr Mitchell,
I'm sorry you have left us. I remember you from my years attending Lodi High 1963-65. I always had alot of respect for you. I hope you are throwing strikes in Heaven. A student from long ago. You are not forgotten. Jim Pruss, Class of 1965
