Thomas Stumph Obituary

Born in Long Beach, California to Leone T. Fisher and Lawrence Carroll Stumph, Jr. from Eau Claire, Wisconsin and moved to the Clayton/Concord area as a young boy, Thomas Neil Stumph passed away on September 16, 2009 at Rancho Marina, near the City of Isleton.
An avid sportsman, Tom loved to fish and hunt in the Delta region, dive for abalone on the California Coast and hunt for deer and elk in Wyoming. Tom's love for fishing in the Delta started in 1960 when his parents bought a 1940's Hunter style boat they named the MARYE A.C. and berthed it at Korth's Pirates Lair Marina on the Delta Loop.
Years later Tom would marry Kimberly Korth from 1992 – 2006, who had been an early childhood friend.
As a youth, Tom was the first graduation class of Concord High School in 1969 and a star forward on their basketball team. Tom went to college at Humboldt State then become a journeyman plumber and later a Plumbing Contractor in the Concord, Sacramento and Valley Springs areas of California.
In the 1990's Tom became a regional Sales Representative for Hydrohoist Boat Lifts and sold, installed and repaired boat lifts in the marinas around the Isleton area. He also continued to do various plumbing jobs for customers as well.
Tom had a livelong love affair with the Weimaraner breed of hunting dog that he cherished, and that often accompanied him on his pheasant hunts through the Delta islands. Tom was well loved by all his fishing, hunting and diving buddies as well as his family, friends, and his fiancée, Cathy Cofer.
He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and he will be truly missed.
Tom is survived by two brothers, Jeffrey Stumph of Martinez and Stephen Stumph of Cortez, CO plus niece, Rebecca Hohloch and nephews, Joseph, Jeffrey and Stephen Stumph. He is also survived by his 91 year old Auntie Marge Moranchek of West Allis, WI and her children: Paula, Mike, Carol, Chuck and Mary Ann as well as his Eau Claire, WI cousins Tim, Tony and Kimberly
An outdoor riverside Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Korth's Pirates Lair Marina, 169 W. Brannan Island Rd., Isleton, CA. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Memorial donations can be made to the www.norcalweimrescue.org at: Northern California Weimaraner Rescue Group, P.O. Box 551, Corte Madera, CA 94976.
