Wayne Burrows Obituary

Wayne Gibbs Burrows II passed away in Woodbridge, CA on January 3rd, 2014, at the age of 70 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Sr. & Dorothy Burrows and his sister, Pamela Zin. He is survived by his beloved wife Jackie, daughters Michelle Hampton (John), Amy Wells (Dan), son Trey Burrows (Tammy), stepson Craig Hunter (Cristy), stepdaughter Kelle Huston, 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan and moved to California in 1963.
Wayne graduated from West Valley College, CA. He worked in the pre-engineered steel industry as a sales manager for most of his career. His outgoing and friendly personality made this a natural fit for him, his salesmen, clients, and the companies' success. He retired in 2007. During his life, he was a Freemason, a member of the Tehran Shriners, and director of the Shrine Clowns. From the time he was a young child, Wayne was an enthusiastic and talented golfer. The game of golf gave him an opportunity to develop life-long friendships and many business associates. He was a member of several country clubs, where he sharpened his golf skills. The social life of the Woodbridge G&CC gave him an opportunity to also participate in his other passions; dancing, entertaining, and socializing with great friends.
Wayne lived a life without regrets and never looked back. He had a zest for life, a smile on his face, and a song in his heart. He will be greatly missed by his family, who will remember him with love and fondness.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bristol Hospice, 2140 Professional St. Suite 210, Roseville, CA 95661. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Joachim Catholic Church, 13392 Lockeford Ranch Dr., Lockeford, CA Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Through the years Wayne and I became more like brothers than cousins. I am grateful and very proud he was part of my life. I will miss him...

We always saw Wayne at his grandkids sporting events - he loved watching sports. He was always in good spirits and a joy to speak with. He will be missed - may he rest in peace.

Our condolences to his family and friends.

I know you are now in a better place but you have left a void on this earth that cannot be filled. I have almost an entire lifetime of fond memories that includes hunting, fishing, golfing and our wilder younger days in good ol' TC. Ours was a friendship that was always there no matter how often we saw each other. I'm sad for the times we missed but glad we were able to break bread one last time last summer. May the Lord bless and give solace to Jackie and your entire family at this trying time.

Farewell Uncle Wayne. You fought so hard, especially this last year. Your burden is lifted and you are home with the Lord, welcomed by those who have missed and loved you. We will miss you here but will keep your loving memories alive.

He brought so much to the friends he made. I loved his sense of humor and teasing. I watched the courtship of Jackie and Wayne which was amazing. I knew there was magic there. They both helped me get through some difficult times. Rent is peace Wayne. The world has lost a gem. Love, Nettie

We will miss your smiling face at the family gatherings, and will especially remember Christmas of 2012 when you burst out singing to the John Lennon song "Imagine", to everyone's surprise. I regret not singing with and for you last Thanksgiving. With Love, Pat and Tom

I love you, Dad, and I'm so grateful to have had the time I had with you on this Earth. Thank you for the wonderful gift on Christmas Eve, where you rallied all your strength to spend that wonderful evening with us. Thank you also, for waiting for me to get to your bedside and give me a chance to say goodbye before you took your last breath. I will miss you terribly, but I know you're in a better place now, and golfing away with Grandpa! I love you!
