William "Bill" Ruff Obituary

William E Ruff (AKA Bill Ruff), passed away peacefully on July 17, 2024. Bill Ruff was born March 13, 1938, in Benton Harbor, Michigan to Emil and Kay Ruff.
Bill attended and graduated from high school at Chico High School. Bill earned a bachelor's degree in business management from Chico State University and later earned a master's degree in business. Bill served in the Marine Corps and was honorably discharged as a Captain. Bill worked for the State of California, division of Highways, negotiating highway right away agreements. Bill went on to become a commercial real estate developer where he then retired.
Bill was an instrument rated pilot. He enjoyed flying with his family and friends during his time as a pilot. Bill also loved boating and camping with his family and friends. Bill always looked forward to time with his family. When he became a grandfather, his time with his grandchildren was important to him. He enjoyed having all the kids get together at his house. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Bill spent the last decade in Palm Desert. He belonged to the Palm Desert Greens Country Club.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Kay Ruff. Sisters; Janet Lange, and Patricia Steinwert. His son, Brian Ruff and daughter, Melinda Ball (Ruff). He is survived by son Patrick Ruff(Pamela Ruff) and his 8 grandchildren.
