Jane Guda Obituary

Jane Will (Anderson) Guda, age 92, of Rockbridge, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 24, 2025, at the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio surrounded by family.

Jane was born May 29, 1933, in Monroe, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Minor William and Ruth (Will) Anderson. Jane attended Purdue University where she met her husband Harry and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and Home Economics. After college and marriage, Jane traveled with Harry during his Navy assignments. Later they settled in Columbus, Ohio and eventually the Hocking Hills to raise their children.

As a homemaker and watercolor artist, a lover of books, philosophy, cooking, gardening, writing, and needlework, she filled her life and family with warmth, creativity, and curiosity. Before and after retirement from the Logan Library, Jane enjoyed traveling extensively with her husband. She continued her creative pursuits and was known for knitting socks that were always at hand.

Jane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harry E. Guda; and survived by her children, Juliette (Dennis Savage) Guda of South Bloomingville, Ohio, Mark (Suzanne) Guda of Athens, Ohio, Sarah (Jeff) Cromwell of Granville, Ohio and Amy Guda of Logan, Ohio; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sister, Mary Amundsen of Rochester, Minnesota; brother, Minor (Linda) Anderson of Tallmadge, Ohio; nieces and nephews; and many wonderful, appreciated friends and neighbors.

The family will be having private services.
