John Dougherty

1959 - 2023

Pastor John C. Dougherty, aged 63, of Logan, Ohio, made his triumphant transition to glory peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

He came into this world on Sept. 23, 1959 in Lancaster, Ohio to Nancy (Spackey) Dougherty and the late Edward E. Dougherty.

Throughout his early years John was an entrepreneur and owner of LJ's Coffee Shoppe. He was called to serve the Lord as pastor at the Mount Tabor Christian Fellowship for over 20 years until the Lord called him home. John was a pillar of the community and a great example of a man that followed God.

Besides his mother, John is survived by three sisters, Jacqualine and Lori Dougherty and Pamela Crabtree, all of Logan. Through the years of friendship he gained a brother, Alian Saunders and sister, Michelle Probasco; nieces and nephews, Zachary Dougherty of Logan, Melissa (Mike) McKinney, Charlie (Esther) Griffith of Lakeland, Florida, and Daniel and Benjamin Dougherty of Missouri. He gave himself the title of "Favorite in lieu of Uncle" to his great-nieces and nephews, Emily, Olivia, Vanessa, Claudia, Boni, Alaina, Ethan, Carter and Griffin.

Besides his father, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Steven E. and Fredrick E. Dougherty; nephew, Joseph "Joey" Crabtree; and grandparents, John C. and Winifred Dougherty.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 at Roberts Funeral Home in Logan.

Inurnment will be held at a later date in New Fairview Memorial Gardens, Good Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio.
