Ralph Smith Obituary
He was born on Oct. 10, 1942 in Clendenin, West Virginia, to Ralph "Pop" Jr., and Georgie (Shamblin) Smith.
He had worked for Brodie, Lakeshore and Perham Pipelines, Team Fishel Co. and Miller Pipeline where he retired from on Dec. 21, 2007. He enjoyed camping at Bobo Campground, NASCAR, bluegrass music and was an avid watcher of Wester Channel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Zella Smith; his wife Carol (Swiney) Smith; sister Joyce Smith, stepbrother Danny Meadows and a brother-in-law Joe Sparr. Ralph is survived by his son Butch (Linda) Smith and daughter Joyce (Kenny) Skaggs, both of Laurelville; grandchildren Jeremy (Chantel) Skaggs, Cody (Jess) Smith, Kassie (Trevor) Ross; great grandchildren Bristol and Scarlett Skaggs, Nicholas and Cody Davis, Carter Smith, Zane and Fallon Ross and Reilly Skaggs; siblings Bill (Joy) Smith, Darla Smith, stepsister Janet Meadows, all of West Virginia; brother-in-law Tom (Sharon) Swiney of North Carolina, sisters-in-law Sue Hays of Michigan and Patty Sparr of Georgia; and by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2025 at noon at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon.
