ALFRED CHASAR Obituary

Alfred H. Chasar, 88, died June 30, 2007. He was born in the Bronx to Regina and Joseph Chasar. Al fell in love and married Pauline Klein. They were married for 64 years. He is survived by his wife Pauline, his two daughters: Bernice Dworkin- husband Bob, and Donna Maer as well as his daughter-in-law Marilyn Chasar. His son Michael predeceased him. There are nine grandchildren- Nedra Chasar, Jesse Simms, Jed Chasar, Jon Chasar, Dejah Hassler, Gabrielle Dworkin, Tars Chasar, Michael Maer, and Allison Maer, as well as six great-grandchildren. Al served in WWII and he was a member of the Max Erlanger Post of the Jewish War Veterans. He was one of the founding members of New City Jewish Center and he was also one of the people who hired Rabbi Sosland. "We will miss you Dad- Husband- Grandpa and Great Grandpa. We will miss hearing your hearty singing and how you remembered all those words". Funeral Services will be held today, Monday July 2, 2007 at 1:30 PM at HELLMAN MEMORIAL CHAPELS, 15 State Street, Spring Valley, NY. Interment to follow at Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to: New City Jewish Center 47 Old Schoolhouse Rd. New City, NY 10956, Beth Am Temple 60 E. Madison Ave. Pearl River, NY 10965, or Make-A-Wish Foundation, 828 South Broadway Tarrytown, NY 10591. Shiva will be observed at Bernice and Bob's house, call 845-623-9283 for directions. Shiva will be observed Monday evening July 2 and Tuesday July 3, 2007.
