Allison Florio Obituary
Allison Leigh Florio passed away on March 10, 2011 with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle against cancer. Allison was born on November 12, 1987. She was 23.
Allison graduated with honors from Tappan Zee High School in 2005 where she participated in soccer and softball. In 2009, she graduated with honors from St. Thomas Aquinas College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics.
She was employed by Wally's Ice Cream for eight years and worked at Le Gateau Suisse Bakery thereafter.
She was motivated, ambitious, young woman who found the good in every one. Allison brought a smile to all those that crossed her path. She loved shopping, going to the beach, traveling and her family dearly.
She is survived by her mother, Laurie; her father John; her brother Anthony; her maternal grandmother June Principio; her aunt Gail Cosimano and her children Nicole, Danielle, Michael and Christopher; her uncle Al VonKessler and his wife Jill and their sons Al and Baron; her aunt Marianne Maushardt and her husband Charles and their sons Chuck, Michael and Danny; and her boyfriend Jeff Krol.
A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 16th, 11 am, at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Tappan followed by a private cremation. Family and friends may call Monday and Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9pm, at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to United Hospice of Rockland would be greatly appreciated (845-634-4974 or www.hospiceofrockland.org).

Dear Laurie, John, Anthony, Nan & Jeff..
"God saw you were getting tired and it was not meant to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away, although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating; hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us...He only takes the best!"
Allison not a day goes by that I don't wonder why you left us so soon. Everything about you was perfect. You were kind, caring, understanding, smart and beautiful. There was so many times where I thought to myself, if I could just be half as perfect as you I would be so happy. You were brave through your long tiring battle and put up a fight with a smile on your face. I don't think I know anyone that brave! The memories of you will live on in our hearts now and you will be missed by all always and forever!

I will never forget those wide eyes she would give me as I would tell her the latest stupid thing I did. Allison was a voice of reason and worked with dedication and thought in every thing she did. She spoke of her family and boyfriend with love and understanding. She taught me so much and guided me though so many incidents. She will always be loved. I feel blessed to have worked with her for and to have learned from her many good examples. May she rest in peace.

John, I envy you and your family. You had 23 years of having a wonderful daughter in your lives.
