I had the lucky fortune of having Andrew as most likely the closest friend I ever had next to my father, George Katzter. The Libo/Katzter friendship ran deep because as next door neighbors and friends bordering on family, Andrew and I were constantly wondering which house we´d rather be hanging out in on any given night of the week. Choice gave way to freedom, and freedom gave way to independence and creativity. We were loyal to one another for the entire time we were together on this planet. And there is nothing in this world as important and magnificent as loyalty. I hope to ride with you again someday my friend. I hope you are laughing to eternity.

Dearest Jean-- Arthur and I were unaware and so saddened to hear what you and the family have been going through the last several months. We have not seen you all in some time and so, have been a bit out of the loop.
You have been in our thoughts and in our conversation .... this is a tragedy for the entire community.
We wish you the strength you need to carry on as Andy would have wanted you to.
Please accept our sincerest condolences and know you remain in our thoughts and in our hearts...we do hope to see you soon.

How can I even find the words to begin to express the pain in my heart when I heard about the death of Andy Libo. He was much more than a friend,or a boss. Andy afforded me the opportunity that changed my life, and ultimately shaped the man I am becoming. He had no reason to help me or my mother, but chose to do so instead. He not only showed me a path to a better life, but gave me an ongoing faith in the innate kindness of the human race.
I've always attributed my good fortunes to the fact that Andy chose to believe in me, and what hurts the most is that I will never have the chance to see his face when I prove his efforts were not in vane. Andy was a
great man, and a true loss to the world. Let his life serve as proof that there is hope for mankind as long as people like Andy exist.

All my best to Jean, Sandy, Matthew, and Ethan. I am sorry I cannot be there in person. Jane will give you all a hug from me. I can still remember having our golf ball contest to see which yard got the most errant shots from Hampshire. Somehow, Andy always won . . . I think he cheated.

My deepest condolences to Andrew's family and his close friends and associates at Gersowitz Libo & Korek. Though I didn't know Andrew well, it is always difficult to lose one of the "good guys". He will be missed by many, but many will consider themselves far better off for having been able to consider Andrew a friend and colleague.

My heartfelt condolences to the Libo family. Andy and I were together from 1969-1979, at Poly and at the U of R. At Poly, we made fun of teachers and tested each other on Mr. Hayden's English spot quotes. Weekends I would bike to the Libo house in Manhattan Beach down Ocean Avenue and across the Sheepshead Bay walking bridge. Mrs. Libo fed me often and welcomed me and offered a warm and nurturing home. Dr. Libo took us to see Tora! Tora! Tora! for Andy's Bar Mitzvah and we ate Chinese food afterwards. Andy and I would battle one-on-one at stickball and shoot hoops in his driveway, imitating Dick Barnett , Earl Monroe, Walt Frazier and Bill Bradley. I was Andy's number one wrestling fan and I lost my voice cheering him on to an Ivy League championship. We spent four years together at the U of Rochester and our circles of friends overlapped. He was a warm, great guy, with a cornball sense of humor, inherited from his father Hersh. My condolences to Jean and the kids, Dr. and Mrs. Libo, David and Sheryl. I speak of Andy often, and I will always carry him in my heart.
