ANDREW SCHIFFER Obituary

Andrew C. Schiffer, 64, a lifelong Hastings-on-Hudson resident, died May 10, 2004. Mr. Schiffer was born in Hastings, the son of Edwin C. and Gertha C. (nee Riffenhauser) Schiffer. Mr. Schiffer attended Hastings Schools and worked as a licensed architect on many building projects throughout Westchester County. Andrew had many hobbies and belonged to several organizations, including scuba diving, showing Quarter Horses, a member of the Westchester County Sheriff's Emergency Force Mounted Division, a range officer at the Blue Mountain Reservation Pistol Range, a licensed pilot of light aircraft, past commander of the Tarrytown Boat Club, he was an ambassador at Killington Mountain in Vermont and was an avid skier, worked in the summer at Camp Koinonia in the Catskills and was a longtime member of the Dobbs Ferry Lutheran Church. Surviving are his brother, Edger, two nephews: Darrell (Jovita) and Brian (Caitlin) Schiffer and his great-nephew, Jakob. Funeral Service Friday, 10:00 am, Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home.
