ANTHONY VALENTI Obituary

Anthony P. Valenti, a resident of Greenwich, CT., and Fort Lauderdale, FL, died July 22, 2006. He was 82 and born December 11, 1923 in Port Chester to the late Frank and Anita Ciliberti Valenti. Mr. Valenti received a BA from Hofstra University in 1948, a Master's Degree in English Literature from the State University at New Paltz, and attended Law School at Fordham University. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Italy and Africa. He was a disabled Veteran having received a gunshot wound in Italy. He served as an Intelligence Observer and was discharged in 1944. He was married to Millie Summa in 1948, Mrs. Valenti died July 20, 1983. Mr. Valenti married Sandra Purcell in 1985, who survives. Mr. Valenti began his career as a teacher and as a real estate broker. He was the owner of A.P. Valenti Realty Company in Port Chester, NY. In the 1960's he was involved in Port Chester and Westchester County Politics. Mr. Valenti is survived by his wife, Sandra Valenti of Greenwich, CT and Fort Lauderdale, FL, son, Dr. Robert Valenti, PhD. and his wife Marlene of Fort Lauderdale, FL, daughters, Barbara Tansky and husband Richard of Del Ray Beach, FL, Joan Valenti of Port Chester, NY, and Alice Quinlan of Port Chester, NY; step-son Anthony Covello of Darien, CT.; sister Nicoletta Simoneau of Greenwich, CT. 14 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and first wife he was predeceased by his son Gary Valenti, brothers, Peter, Frank and Fred Valenti and Matilda Drago. Visitation will be 5 to 9 PM on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Service will be 10 AM on Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at the Funeral Home. Interment to Follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Rye Brook, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Mr. Valenti may be sent to the American Heart Association.
