ARTHUR M. RITTENBERG

Arthur M. Rittenberg, 81, of Piermont, NY passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007. He was born in Boston, MA. on May 3, 1925 to Lena and Max Rittenberg. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Louise, he was the proud father of Cindy Forney and her husband, Nes, Gerry Rittenberg and his wife, Linda and Margie Schulz and her husband, Carl, and the doting grandfather of Greg and Keith Forney, Andrew and James Schulz and Craig Rittenberg and his wife, Courtney and Garrett Rittenberg and his loving sister and brother-in -law, Barbara and Philip Roth, and many loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, George and Robert Rittenberg. He graduated from Boston University with a major in journalism and public relations. He worked for Prentice-Hall Publishing company for 35 years, was a consultant with the Mosely Group, and most recently was a consultant for Amscan, Inc. in Elmsford, NY. Art was a dedicated baseball coach with Piermont P.A.L. for over 30 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps on Iwo Jima in WW II and was a member of the Piermont V.F.W. He was thrilled to see his dream of a new Piermont Library become a reality. Art was a mentor to countless young people and a friend to all. He touched many lives and leaves behind a spirit of joy and a love of life that will live on forever. Services will be held at Temple Sholom, 385 Howland Avenue, River Edge, NJ,Monday, March 5, 2007 at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Empire Hose Company #1, Piermont, NY. Arrangements are by LOUIS SUBURBAN CHAPEL, Fairlawn, NJ
