Brendan Hynes Obituary
Brendan K. Hynes of Fishkill, NY (formerly of Mahopac) passed away on September 4, 2016 at the age of 82. He was born in County Galway, Ireland on June 1, 1934, the son of James and Catherine (nee: Burns) Hynes. He is survived by his wife Anne, sons Kerril(Maryann) and Ken, daughters Kathy Kennedy(Brian) and Deirdre Hynes-Ormond(Chris), brother John, and 12 grandchildren. Visiting is scheduled for Wed. 9/7 and Thurs. 9/8 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 12 Noon at St. Denis Church is Hopewell Jct. with interment to follow at St. Denis Cemetery. Brendan worked for me as an inspector on NYSDOT projects and we became best friends. He was one of the finest inspectors I've ever worked with. He was fair and honest in all his decisions and got along with everyone.
I'm sure he is continuing these admirable traits working for the lord in heaven. I miss you you big Mic! Max

Anne and family:
Mary and I were shocked to hear today of Brendan's passing. He was always such a gentleman whether at golf, 25 cards, GAA or any other activity. We shared many stories of Galway hurling and football teams and of your kids and grandchildren's Gaelic and other sporting and academic pursuits. He was a true Gael and a great son of Ireland. He will be sadly missed by all his many friends in New York and Boynton Beach.

Very sorry to hear of Brendan's passing. Myself and my brother got to know him back in the summer of 1998 which we spent in the US. Being from the same part of Co. Galway, Brendan had a great welcome for us, and we even stayed in his house in Fishkill one time after playing a game of hurling. Remember him as a really decent guy, he couldn't do enough for us while we were there.
