Carlos Pampolina Obituary

Pampolina, Carlos M.

Carlos M. Pampolina, 71, of Lake Wales, FL, formerly of Pearl River, NY, entered into eternal rest with his daughter by his side, in Manila, The Philippines, on March 25, 2012 while traveling.

Carlos was born on August 18, 1940, the son of Emerenciana Mercado Escondo and Florencio Pampolina in San Pablo City, Laguna, Philippines. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. In the early 1970s, Carlos and his wife Carmencita brought their young family to the United States and eventually settled in Pearl River, NY where they grew roots and became an integral part of the Pearl River community and St. Aedan's Catholic Church. Carlos worked professionally for many years and later on for St. Dominic's Home in Blauvelt where he was much loved by the people he cared for. In retirement, Carlos and Carmencita moved to Lake Wales, Florida where they were active members of the Lake Ashton community, making many close friends, and enjoyed spending time together and traveling. Carlos was predeceased by his beloved Carmencita in 2009. He lived an active life, playing golf, caring for his animal friends, and most especially, enjoying his grandchildren who found their "Lolo" irresistible and showered him with affection.

He is survived by his four children, Rommel and his wife Desiree of Fishkill, NY, Pamela Stock and her husband Charles of Allendale, NJ, Carl and his wife Heather of Suffern, NY, Vernon and his wife Michelle of Monroe, NY, and his nine adoring grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Marissa, Brendan, Marie, Lily, Jake, Aidan and Evan. He is also survived by his sister in law Norma Cepeda of Lake Wales, FL, his half brother Antonio Escondo of San Pablo City, Philippines as well many, many dear friends and extended family members in the United States and The Philippines. It's often impossible to distinguish friends from family when you are welcomed by the Pampolina family's open arms.

A funeral mass was held in The Philippines, and a memorial service will be held at 10AM on Monday, April 9, 2012 at St. Aedan's Catholic Church in Pearl River, NY.
