CHARLES W. McCONNELL

90, of Warwick, formerly of Tappan, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great grandfather, died August 30 at the Schervier Pavilion, Warwick. He was the son of the late David and Mary Bonsall McConnell. He was the widower of Helen Johnson McConnell. A graduate of Carnegie Institute of Technology, he was a chemical engineer for Union Carbide Corp for many years. During WW2 he worked on the Manhattan Project. In addition, to a 40 year long career, he participated in many community affairs. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, the Tappan, NY Library and the Tappan Reformed Church. He is remembered by his friends and his family as a person who faced each day with a smile. He is survived by his daughter Helen Sise of Arcata, CA, his son David McConnell, MD of Warwick, NY, three grandchildren Heather Moran, Thomas McConnell and Patrick Sise and one great grandson. A Memorial Service is planned for a later date. Burial will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Tappan Reformed Church, Tappan, NY, or to a charity of your choice.
