Concetta Cocucci Obituary

Concetta "Tina" DiRauso Cocucci, a resident of Nanuet, NY died on July 19, 2008 peacefully in her home. She was 66. Tina was born July 14, 1942 in Curti Provincia di Caserta, Italy, to Lina Calvano and Raffaele DiRauso. She grew up in Santa Maria Capua Vetere in Italy, where she met and married her husband, Ugo Cocucci at the Madonna di Assunta Cathedral in Santa Maria. The Cocucci's settled in Nanuet and lived there since 1972. As a young woman, Tina worked as a seamstress. She enjoyed spending every summer in her beloved Santa Maria in Italy and loved to spoil her grandchildren when she returned at the end of every summer. She will always be remembered for her remarkable strength, her elegance and for the great love she had for her family. She is survived by husband, Ugo, her loving son, Dr. Hugo Cocucci and his wife, Maria; and her loving daughter Josephine Svantner and her husband Joseph. Nonna Tina will be dearly missed by her beloved grandchildren Daniela, Adriana, Marc, Jacqueline, Nicole, Samantha and Danielle. Tina is also survived by her loving sisters Bianca Salzano, Rosalba Rosetti, Eva Rotta, and her dear brothers, Sergio and Antonio DiRauso, all of Italy. Tina also leaves her many dear nieces and nephews. We would like to thank our family, friends and clergy for all of their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. We extend our gratitude to the staff at St. John's Riverside Hospital in Yonkers, New York for taking such wonderful care of Tina. The dignity and respect that was given to her will never be forgotten. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, from 7-9 PM and Tuesday, July 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Joseph W. Sorce Funeral Home, 728 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, NY 10994. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on July 23 at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Church in Nanuet.
