David Harding Obituary
David E. Harding, of Buchanan, NY died on Feb. 5, 2013 in Vero Beach, FL. David was born on April 9, 1927 in Dobbs Ferry, NY. David served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. He married his wife Eileen Kelly in 1955. In 1954, he became a State Trooper and becoming one of the first State Trooper Residents to Fisher Island. He was appointed to the NYS BCI Troop K in 1964, assigned to Governor Nelson Rockefeller detail in 1964, appointed Trooper in charge of Governor Malcolm Wilson detail before retiring as NYST in April 1979. He was also appointed Director of Security Manhattan Savings in NY. He is survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen in 2003. Reposing on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Cortlandt Funeral Home. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 AM on Monday at St. Christopher's Church in Buchanan, NY. Interment will follow at St. Denis Cemetery in Hopewell Junction, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice supporting Cancer Research and Treatment.

Our thoughts, prayers and love go out to the entire family. Dave was a very special person, and we enjoyed spending time at parties and family functions. He will be greatly missed.

Dave was a class guy in all respects, a frequent visitor to the Westchester DA office who was always welcome. A friend to one and all, extremely professional and one of the best troopers you could ever meet both when active and retired. May he rest in peace. Jonathan Z. Friedman
