I have a poem that I will share just a bit of. I'll lend you for a little time, a child of mine. For you to love while she lives, and mourn when she is dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three. But will you, till I call her back, take care of her for me ?"We'll shelter her with tenderness, we'll love her while we may; And for the happiness we've known, will ever grateful stay. But shall the angels call for her much sooner than we planned? We'll brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand."

We were both honored and thankful to have been selected as the place for family and friends to celebrate the life and passion of Deborah. She and I often spoke about something she had seen on her daily walks through the Reservation, me from an ecologist's insight, her's from a position of genuine interest and curiosity. Her's was always a visit couched in sincerity and the need to understand her world better. To her family...you are ALWAYS welcome to come to the Resrvation to reflect and heal. I will miss our conversations, Deborah. May you find the answers to all your questions where your spirit now dwells, and somehow touch your family often from beyond. Be at peace for eternity. I hope we meet again. Peace.
