DOMINIC PERRUCCIO Obituary

PERRUCCIO, DOMINIC Dominic Perruccio, a lifelong resident of Peekskill, passed away after a long illness on Sunday, June 12, 2005. Dominic was born April 7, 1930 in Peekskill, son of Anthony and Grace (Candrea) Perruccio. A graduate of Peekskill High School, he attended The Feagin School of Drama and Radio and the School of Radio Technique and Television in New York City. He was a US Veteran of the Korean War, serving between 1941 to 1955. After his service, he attended New York University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in radio in 1959. His first job was as an announcer for WLNA, Peekskill, and hosted his show, Don Perry in the afternoons and also worked on weekends at WREF in Richfield, CT. In the 1960's, he was a commercial producer for the advertising agencies, William Esty and later Kenyon and Eckart in New York City. At William Esty, he produced commercials for Ballentine beer at Yankee Stadium. When Cable TV first came to Peekskill, he was the manager. He spent many years as a substitute teacher in the Peekskill Middle School and the Peekskill High School in the 1980's and early 90's. (He was an avid Yankee fan and NY Giants fan). Mr. Perruccio married Patricia Reid on October 13, 1968 at the United Methodist Church of Peekskill. Along with his wife Patricia, he is survived by his devoted children, Dominic A. Perruccio of Peekskill and daughter, Pia Perruccio of Goshen, NY and his aunt Jennie Candrea of Peekskill. Funeral Services will be held 11 am Thursday, June 16, at the United Methodist Church, Main St., Peekskill, followed by cremation. The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the E.O. CURRY FUNERAL HOME, 313 North James St., Peekskill, NY.
