EDWARD MCDONALD Obituary

Edward McDonald passed away on February 3, 2006. Born in New York City on March 17, 1920 to Edward and Margaret (Coyle) McDonald. Edward has been a resident of New City for 44 years. Prior to that he lived in the Bronx. He proudly served his country in WW II. Edward worked for the IRS for 35 years, after retiring he then worked for the Rockland County Bureau of Weights and Measures, where he retired in 2003 after 18 years. He also coached New City Little League from 1971-1975. Edward is survived by his children; Michael and his wife Debbie of New City, NY, Susan and her husband James Doonan of Highland Falls, NY, and Nancy and her husband Richard O'Connell of St. Louis, MO. Also surviving is his sister Margaret Chiefari of Sarosota, FL. He will be missed dearly by his grandchildren; Caitlin, Meghan, Colleen, Danny, Jimmy, and John. Edward is predeceased by his wife Anita, his son David, and his sister Patricia McNamee. The family will receive friends on Monday and Tuesday, at the Michael J. Higgins FH, 321 So. Main St., New City, NY, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY. MICHAEL J. HIGGINS FUNERAL HOME 321 S. Main Street New City (845) 634-6110
