ERNEST J. HERGER

HERGER, ERNEST J. Ernest J. Herger, 90, died at home in Morristown on September 29, 2005. Mr. Merger was born in Yonkers, NY where he was a life-long member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception (St. Mary's). He moved to Morristown in 1997 but his heart never left Yonkers. Ernest Herger joined the Civilian Conservation Corp. in 1933 and served with Camp 253 in Rogerson, ID. He was a member of Local 3, IBEW of New York. He retired from Phelps Dodge Cable and Wire, Yonkers where he was shop steward and a cable repairman. Mr. Herger is survived by a son Ernest S. Herger and his wife Janet of Closter, NJ; a son William F. Herger and his wife Diane of Yorktown Heights, NY; a daughter Helen Ann Pinto and her husband Deacon Richard Pinto of Morristown, NJ; two sisters Ethel Buffalo and Mary Herger, both of Sunnyvale, CA; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Assumption Church, Morristown, NJ at 10 am on October 4, 2005. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Yonkers, NY. Visitation will be on October 3, 2005 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Avenue, Morristown, NJ.
