FRANCES PLATT Obituary

Frances Platt, longtime Rockland County resident, died October 7, 2000 at Brigham and Women's Hospital. She was 87. She was born December 13, 1912 in Brooklyn, NY to Vito and Frances Pellicane. Frances' lifelong achievements included graduation from Syracuse University, she received her Masters Degree from Columbia University. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, a member of the Cairo Golden Age Club, past member of the Haverstraw Seniors. Frances was also Past President of the N.Y.S. Food Service Association. She was a Board member of the Rockland Chapter for the American Heart Association. Frances was a former teacher of Home Economics in North Rockland, and later Director of School Food Services for North Rockland until her retirement in 1980. Frances is survived by her son and his wife Frank and Elizabeth of South Cairo, NY, her grandchildren Frank of South Cairo, Richard of Middletown, NY and David of Golden, CO. Her sisters Mary Murphy of Haverstraw, Rose D'Angelo of Queens and Frieda D'Angelo of Toms River, NJ, numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. Friends may call Tuesday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. at the T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Haverstraw. Frances' Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Peter's Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Queens. T.J.
