Frank Gadler Obituary
Montclair, NJ - Frank Joseph Gadler 61, of Montclair, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 5. He was born in New York City on November 10, 1956, to Salvatore and Rose Gadler, who predeceased him. He graduated from Clarkstown High School South in 1974 and Fordham University in 1978. For over 40 years, Frank served as Computer Manager, Graphics Developer, and Innovations Technologist at Lukasiewicz Design in NYC. He is survived by his loving children Charlotte O'Dair-Gadler and Rowan (Rose) O'Dair-Gadler, his adoring sisters Anna Pratt, Carmela Migliore (Richard), and Enrica Goe (Stephen), his nine nieces and nephews, and his many dear cousins and friends. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his expansive knowledge and love of learning, his great sense of humor, and his big heart. Reposing, Hawthorne Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Mass, Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY on Wednesday 11 a.m. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY to follow. Remembrances of flowers or donations to the American Heart Association are equally welcome.

I met Frank during his college days when he hung out with the Mimes and Mummers, the theater group from Fordham University. We had mutual friends in the Mimes & Mummers. I was a scrappy Bronx kid who watched once as Frank de-escalated a tense confrontation as we walked together with these same friends across 14th Street in Manhattan. I recall someone suddenly appeared who clearly wanted to fight. NYC was weird like that in the 70's. Frank talked the guy down from his rage and managed to walk away from the potential fight. Until then, I did not know walking away, refusing to fight, was an option. I told Frank years later how he helped inspire me to live a more peaceful life. It was one of those moments that always stayed with me.
Frank was warm and respectful at all times. And a joy to be with. Peace, my friend.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Gadler family during this difficult time. I had the great opportunity to work with Frank for 6 years at Lukasiewicz Design. He was such a rare gem. What a wonderful person. He was witty, kind and smart as hell! I just loved talking to him, you never knew what you would learn on any given day. We sure had a lot of laughs. He will be greatly missed by all. Rest in Peace Frank!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Gadler family. It was a joy to work in the presence of Frank. I will never forget the warmth his smile brought to the office each and every day. Frank will forever be in our hearts and memories.

To the Gadler family, my deepest heartfelt prayers are with you to get through this most difficult time. Take comfort knowing Frank was so loved by everyone who knew him. Among Fordham friends he was always referred to as "the great one". I understood this after getting to know him. He was the great one. I know you will miss him, as his Fordham family will. There will always be only one "great one" in our hearts.
