HARRY GOTESKY

Harry Gotesky of Kings Point at Tamarac, Florida died Thursday, June 15, 2000 at his home. He was born January 8, 1908 in the Bronx, New York to Dora and Morris Gotesky. A graduate of the High School of Commerce and City College of New York. He was an accountant. During World War II, he served as an auditor of war contracts for the government in Washington. DC. He was Assistant Treasurer of Bienenfeld Glass Works, Inc until his retirement in 1975. Harry was an active volunteer. He was Treasure Emeritus of both the Howard Beach Senior Center in Howard Beach, New York and the Kings Point Men's Club in Tamarac, Florida, and was one of the original bingo volunteers at Jowonio in New City, New York. He was an avid reader throughout his life and was very proud that at 17 he was the first prize winner in the newspaper. The World, "Biggest News of the Week" contest. He is survived by his daughters Sandy Tendler and her husband Paul of New City, New York; Irene Goldschein and her husband Hank of Plantation, Florida; his granddaughters Robyn Tendler, New City, New York. Laura Tendler, Astoria, New York and grandson Dr. David Tendler, David's wife Dr. Susan Spratt and great granddaughter Lilly Isabella Tendler of Durham, North Carolina, and granddaughters Lisa Goldschein, Plantation, Florida, and Tracy Goldschein and her fiance Scott Gindea, Boca Raton, Florida, and Harry's special friend Irene Kruger, Tamarac. Florida. He was predeceased by his wife Ruth, two children, Leonard and Janet, and his brother Milton, and his sisters Rose Krantz and Lillian Heller. Harry was a loving husband, father and grandfather, always there for his family with love and optimism. His smile touched all. He will be missed always and forever. The funeral took place on June 16, 2000 at 1:30 PM a the Hellman Memorial Funeral Home, Spring Valley, New York, with interment at Beth El Cemetery, Oradell, New Jersey. The family will be sitting shiva through June 22 at the home of Sandy Tendler, 10 Meadow Lane, New City, New York. Memorial contributions can be made to Jawonio, Inc 260 N. Little Tor Rd.
