HENRY THAXTON Obituary

Lifetime Spring Valley resident, Henry Thaxton, Sr., 77, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2008. He was born on February 11, 1931 to George, Sr. and Annie (Ware) Thaxton, who predeceased him. His oldest brother Bernie also predeceased him. After serving during the Korean War, he received his Honorable Discharge from the United States Army. Henry retired from Lederle Laboratories of Pearl River, NY. Henry is survived by his wife Rita and three sons: Henry, Jr. (Jane) of Schenectady, NY; Eugene (Vera) of Virginia Beach, VA; Ricky (Natascha) of Cornwall, NY. His sister, Carrie (Fred) Crump, and brothers, Joseph (Dolores) and George, Jr. Thaxton also survive him. Henry also leaves behind four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, stepchildren, nieces and nephews to mourn his passing. In addition to those and other family members, Henry leaves behind good friends Carmella and Rick Vargas. Family and friends may pay their respects at St. Paul's AME Zion Church at 121 Harriet Tubman Way (West Street), Spring Valley, NY on Tuesday, October 7 from 7-9 PM and October 8 from 10-11 AM. The funeral service will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, October 8, 2008, followed by Interment at Rockland County's Veterans Cemetery, Brick Church Road, New Hempstead, NY.
