Isabella Avery Obituary
Tomkins Cove - Isabella J. Avery, age 84, of Tomkins Cove, NY passed away Friday, August 31, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Suffern, NY.
She was born in Haverstraw, NY to Edward and Isabella (Forrest) Jersey. She retired from Letchworth Village where she worked in food service for many years.
Isabella was blessed with five daughters: Janet Helbig of Sloatsburgh, NY, son-in-law Richard Helbig of Tomkins Cove, NY; Nancy Tolleson (Derek) of Deer Park, NY; Joann McElroy (Kenneth) of Highland Falls, NY; Dawn Emerizy (Bruce) of Tomkins Cove, NY and Patricia Notte (Vincent) of Brownsmills, NJ.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Avery on July 28,1998 and by two sons-in-law Bruce Emerizy 2012; Derek Tolleson 2013 and five brothers and one sister. She has 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Her favorite pastime was camping at the Jersey shore and a fascination for Hummingbirds.
Family will receive relatives and friends at the Edward C. Finn Funeral Home, 43 East Main Street, Stony Point, NY on Thursday from 2 to 7 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 10 AM with burial to follow at the Frederick W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
