JAMES CILIBERTO Obituary

October 10, 1921 - October 3, 2007 James Ciliberto, of Middetown, died on Wednesday, October 3 at home. He was 85. The son of the late Peter and Pauline Leone Ciliberto, he was born on October 10, 1921 in Ambler, PA. James moved to the Middletown area 6 years ago from Nyack. He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses for 54 years, serving as both an Elder and minister in the Nyack Congregation and recently the Circleville Congregation. He was a devout man who read, followed and loved scripture. James is survived by his wife of 60 years, Laura Serratore Ciliberto; his daughter, Pauline Lazarski and her husband Walter, all at home; grandchildren, Jared Lazarski and his wife, Ruth of Middletown, Bethany Rango and her husband Carmine of Wappingers Falls and Rebecca Shepard and her husband Adam of Portland, Oregon. He is also survived by his sister, Marion Ciliberto of Ambler, PA; sisters-in-law, Lucy Serratore of Georgia, Linda Serratore of Rockland County, Mena Ciliberto of Pennsylvania, and Mary Lynch and her husband Robert of Nyack; and 23 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and Gaetano and sister, Victoria Amento, . Visitation will be held today (Friday, October 5) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc., 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will be at 11 am on Saturday, October 6, 2007 in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery, Mulberry Street, Middletown. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday afternoon at the Kingdom Hall, 511 Mount Hope Road, Middletown, NY 10940. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, www.applebee-mcphillips.com.
