JAMES WOODS Obituary

Age 26, of Manhattan, formerly of Pearl River, is missing since the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center. He worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in Tower 1 on the 104th floor. Jimmy was born on February 26, 1975 in Suffern, NY, to Joyce (Phelan) and John Woods, retired Lieutenant FDNY. He grew up in Pearl River and graduated from Nanuet High School in 1993 and SUNY Oswego in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After graduation he began working for Cantor Fitzgerald and moved into the city. Jimmy loved life; he had an amazing smile and contagious laugh. The room would light up when he walked in. Everyone who met him, loved him. He was a fun-loving young man, who worked hard to succeed in all aspects of his life. He loved New York City and took advantage of all it had to offer. He also loved sports and was an avid Jets, Knicks, and Yankees fan. In his Nanuet High School yearbook his personal senior quote read: "Another chance hello, Another goodbye And so many things We'll never see again Days of life that seemed So unimportant Seem to matter and To count much later on." Genesis Jimmy will be deeply missed by his family, to whom he will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, his goodness, generosity, sincerity, sensitivity, and love. He is survived by his parents, Joyce and John Woods, his sister Eileen of Pearl River, his girlfriend Kelly Landin of Spring Valley, his paternal grandparents Joan and Jack Woods of Greenville, NY, his aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many friends. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 10 at 1:30 pm at St. Aedan's Church in Pearl River. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Widows's and Children's Fund, Uniformed Firefighters' Association, 204 East 23rd Street, NY, NY, 10010. The family will also be establishing a scholarship in Jimmy's name at Nanuet High School at a later date. WYMAN-FISHER FUNERAL HOME, INC 100 Franklin Ave, Pearl River (845)735-2161
