Janet Lee Brissing, of Nanuet, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 1st. Janet was born on June 8, 1956 in the Bronx, NY to Peter and Margaret (Cocoran) Mucciolo. Janet graduated from Nanuet Senior High School in 1974 and played Volleyball, Softball and made the Varsity Basketball team as a freshman. During her senior year she worked for Nanuet National Bank and met her future husband, Einar Gary Brissing. Gary and Janet were married at Saint Anthony's Church in Nanuet on September 19th, 1976. During Janet's 58 years she has worked at Nanuet National Bank in Nanuet, Aunt Mollie's Donut Shop in Pearl River, Swiss Colony in Nanuet, various temp work and finally Verizon Wireless in Orangeburg, NY. Einar and Janet moved to the Wilmington/Leland area of North Carolina in 2004. Janet was very active in People to People helping with their Santa Project for almost 20 years and various food drives. Janet was always looking to help others and even while sick was collecting dresses, shoes and purses for girls in Brunswick County, NC to wear for prom. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

Janet is survived by her husband of 38 years, Einar Gary Brissing; children, Danielle (Robert Williams) Brissing, Melody (Jason Tee) Brissing, and Einar Gary Carl Brissing; her sisters, Linda, Donna and Kathy and her brother Peter, her parents and her two bright shining stars her granddaughters, Nicole Lee and Alice Ann Williams.

The Brissing family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 at Higgins Funeral Home, Stony Point. A service will be held that evening at 8 pm. Cremation services will be private. In lieu of flowers, Janet requested that you carry out a random act of kindness.
