Freeley, John

Freeley, John M. of Suffern, NY. Died February 28, 2011 at age 79. Born November 11, 1931 in New York City to John and Martha (Planz) Freeley. Pre-deceased by his adoptive mother, Louise E. Planz and his cherished grandmother, Mary (Gstettner) Planz. John was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School and Fordham University and obtained a Master's degree in Criminal Justice from Long Island University. John served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War. He then became a Police Officer with the NYPD and completed his 30 year career retiring as a Lieutenant in 1990. He was an avid stamp collector and lifelong Yankees fan. Survived by his beloved wife Mary (nee Quinn), loving daughter Mary Theresa Freeley and cherished sisters Eileen Fay and Janet Pascual. Visitation Thursday 4-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59 Suffern. Funeral Mass Friday 10am at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church in Mahwah, NJ followed by an interment at St. Raymond's Cemetery Bronx, NY.
