John Tufo Obituary
John B. Tufo, a longtime resident of Yonkers for 55 years, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 93. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and was the recipient of 5 battle stars. John was the loving husband of the late Mary (nee Poveromo). Dear father of Rosemarie (Joseph) Limato and Nicholas (Catherine) and the loving grandfather of 3 grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Funeral mass Wednesday 10:45 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church with interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery - Hawthorne, NY. The family will be present Tuesday 2-9 pm at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. - 732 Yonkers Avenue - Yonkers, NY 10704 (914) 375-1400 - www.frswfh.com

My condolences to Rosemarie and Nick, on the passing of their father John. Any time I think of my uncle Johnny it brings a smile to my face . I will miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Tufo family.

I was very sorry to hear of Uncle John's passing. I haven't seen him in many years, but I always remember his smile. My love and prayers go out to Rosemarie and Nick.

Sending love, condolences and prayers to the Nick, Rosemarie and the entire Tufo family. It was always wonderful to visit "Uncle John" and the family when visiting New York with Mom (Elizabeth). I also remember visiting in July 1977, just days after the NYC "Blackouts" and during the MLB All-Star game @ Yankee Stadium.

I'm so sorry and saddened to hear about the loss of my Uncle John. He was a wonderful man and even though I hadn't seen him in quite some time I thought of him often. I'll miss him.
