JOSEPH ABITABILO Obituary

Joseph A. Abitabilo, a resident of Irvington for 27 years, died January 22, 2004, after a four month courageous battle with brain cancer. He passed away peacefully and without pain, while resting in his Irvington home surrounded by his family, loved ones and lifelong friends. He was born in the Bronx on October 29, 1943 to Joseph and Rosalie Abitabilo. He is survived by his childhood sweetheart, who became his loving wife and soul mate 38 years ago, Fran (nee Chiapparino), his parents, his brother, Neil, his son Joey and daughter, Michele Beja and his two grandchildren, who brought him so much joy, Isaac and Kelli. To know Joseph was to love him. He enjoyed the simple things in life: fishing, boating, watching sports and spending quality time with friends and family. You were just too good for this world, dad. Visiting for Mr. Abitabilo will be Friday (today) 2-4 and 7-9 pm, Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday 10:00 am, Church of the Immaculate Conception, Irvington, NY. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Phelps Hospice, 701 N. Broadway, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591 appreciated. EDWARDS-DOWDLE FUNERAL HOME, INC. 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry (914)693-3330 www.edwardsanddowdle.com
