Joseph Delio Obituary
Joseph Paul Delio, Jr. of Mahopac, New York passed away on November 9, 2016. He was born on July 11, 1970 in Yonkers, New York to Joseph and Theresa Delio. Joseph graduated from Mahopac High School in 1989 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served in the Persian Gulf War and was the recipient of several citations including the Combat Marine Action Ribbon. Subsequently, he joined the New York City Police Dept., serving 20 years with the 44th Precinct and two as a Detective in the 46 Pct. Detective Squad in the Bronx. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alison (Rehak) and children, Joseph, III, Michael, and Liliana, his loving parents, Joseph and Theresa, two younger sisters, Michele Cristofero (Robert) and Suzanne Delio, his maternal grandmother, Raphaela Fattori, brothers-in-law, William and James Rehak, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Matteo and Crocifissa Delio and his maternal grandfather, Armando Fattori. His family and friends will honor the life of Joseph on Monday and Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m and 7 to 9pm. at Yorktown Funeral Home. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at his home parish of St. John the Evangelist in Mahopac at 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to assist in costs for higher education for the Delio children.
