JOSEPH MORGADO Obituary

Joseph Martin Morgado Sr., a 64 year resident of West Harrison, died Saturday, August 7, 2004 at the age of 95. Joseph was born January 6, 1909 in Lagoa das Tales, Portugal to Louisa Martins and Joaquim Morgado. He attended White Plains public schools and graduated high school in 1930. Mr. Morgado lived in White Plains for 14 years. He was employed by Con Edison as a foreman; never missing a day of work in 48 years. He married Helene Manta on May 31, 1936 in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Yonkers. Joseph was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony's Holy Name Society; also a member of St. Anthony's Church. Survived by his wife, Helene; two sons, Joseph Martin Morgado Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Richard Anthony Morgado of Benedictine Monastery of Hawaii; four grandchildren, Pam, Dawn, Marty and Cindy and four great-grandchildren. He is predecease by three brothers, John, Andrew and Manuel and seven sisters, Ermina Caixeiro, Joanna Morgado, Mary Serrenho, Ana Morgado, Joaquina Augusto, Clementina Lagonegro and Rosalina Morgado. Visitation Monday 7-9pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9pm at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home. Mass Wednesday 10am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, West Harrison. Interment Mt.
