Joseph Ryan Obituary
Joseph J. Ryan, 87, of Blauvelt, passed away February 23, 2015. Joseph was born in the Bronx to Edward and Mary (James) Ryan. Joseph was a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt High School in the Bronx. After graduating he served in the United States Navy during World War II. Joseph started his career with NYPD at the 41st Precinct (Fort Apache) and retired as Detective in the Major Case Squad in 1973. Joseph was predeceased by his wife Frances (1995). He is survived by his children, Joseph Jr., Gerald, John, Eileen, and Frances. Joseph is also survived by two grandchildren, Margaret and Colleen and two great-grandchildren, Rhylee and Paige. Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan.
