JOSEPH THEVENIN Obituary

Joseph Lamarre Thevenin, Sr., a long time Yonkers resident, died on September 23, 2008 at the age of 83 at San Souci Nursing Home after a long battle with colon cancer. Joseph was born on August 22, 1925 in Port-u-Prince, Haiti and immigrated to the US over 30 years ago. He worked as a maintenance supervisor for many years and then retired. During his retirement he enjoyed his hobbies of jewelry crafting by hand, doing cross word puzzles and photography. He is predeceased by his first wife Marie Edith Thevenin (Baptiste) mother to his first 10 children. He is also predeceased by all his siblings. He is survived by his second wife, mother of the last two children, Franckline Vernet. Also surviving are his 12 loving children: Gislaine Anglade, Joseph Lamarre Edy, Marie Cecile Dubuisson, Joseph Ernst, Yves Robert, Gregoire Frantz, Michel Hans, Ronald Patrick, Jacques Joel, Marie Jocelyne Pink, Joseph Lamarre Jr., and Ketty. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many relatives in the US, Canada, and Haiti. Joseph will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be Friday from 3-6 PM at Brooks Memorial Home, 275 Warburton Ave., Yonkers, NY 10701. (914) 965-3781. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Saturday 9:30 AM at Immaculate Conception (St. Mary's) Church 103 South Broadway. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery 2 Saw Mill River Rd.
