JOSEPHINE KOHLER Obituary

Josephine Gloria Kohler , 84, formerly of Yonkers, NY died on June 12, 2008 after a long illness. Born and raised in Yonkers she was married to Joseph Kohler for 33 years. He predeceased her in 2000. She was the daughter of Joseph and Amelia (Marchi), Castelvecchi also of Yonkers, NY. She was a graduate of Commerce H.S. in Yonkers in 1942 and later from the Butler Business School where she received her associates degree in bookkeeping and business machines. Gloria was active in the scouting organization where she was both a Scout Master and Weblo leader. She moved to Sparta in 1990 and resided at Knoll Heights where she served as Treasurer for the Knoll Heights Association and Sparta Seniors. While in Sparta Gloria was a member of the Italian American Club and the VFW. Gloria was the mother of Joseph Kohler of Oakland, NJ, Jane Germano of Sparta, NJ, and Paul Kohler of Olyphant, PA. She was an Aunt to Bobby Williams of Harriman, NY, as well as 13 other nieces and nephews. Gloria was a devoted grandmother of eight grandchildren and one great grandchild, Olivia Kohler. Gloria had four brothers, Baldo Castelli who predeceased her in 2000, Peter Castelvecchi of West Palm Beach, Fl., Robert Castelli of St. Petersburg, Fl., and Joseph Castle of Pineville, N.C., as well as two sisters Sue Leonardo of Nutley, N.J., and Marie Williams of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta, NJ at 11 am on Monday June 16th, 2008. The Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Pass it Along, at www.passitalong .org, or by calling them at 973.726.9777
