Kanze, Joyce B.

Joyce B. Kanze, 86, of North White Plains, died Tuesday, August 4, after a long illness.

Born Joyce Marie Brownell in Johnstown, New York on Sept. 21, 1928, she was the daughter of Helen Mullen and Burdett E. Brownell, Sr.

Joyce was a graduate of Potsdam State Teachers College and Manhattanville College. She taught elementary grades in White Plains Schools from 1970 until 1989.

She is survived by her husband, Edward J. Kanze, Jr, her children, Maggie Silton (Andy), Ed Kanze (Debbie), and Nora Manuele (Paul), her four grandchildren, Kate Silton (Roger Williams), Drew Silton (Kate Weissler), Ned Kanze, and Tasman Kanze, her two great-granddaughters, Annabel Williams and Emily Williams, and her sister-in-law, Annette Brownell.

A memorial service will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Bedford Road in Armonk, NY on Saturday, August 8, at 2:30 pm. The family will receive family and friends in the parish hall after the service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to the National Parkinsons Foundation or the Valhalla Ambulance Corps.
