JUAN PAYAN Obituary

Don Juan Payan, age 73, died January 15, 2003. He came to the U.S. in 1962 and moved to Haverstraw in 1976. Born in Sarcedo, Dominican Republic to Juan and Vangelista Paulino Payan on August 21, 1929. Don Juan Payan was a police officer in the Dominican Republic and President of the P.R.D. Coalition of the Dominican Republic in Haverstraw. He was very active in politics. Survived by his son George and wife Celia Payan and son Jaime Payan, all of Haverstraw, NY, one daughter Daisy Payan of Puerto Rico, two granddaughters, Sheena Marie Payan and Jessica Lynn Payan of Haverstraw, NY, and two brothers, Eladio Paulino of Haverstraw, NY, and Rafael Paulino of Manhattan, NY. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the George M. Holt Funeral Home, Inc, 50 New Main Street, Haverstraw, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 10 am at St. Peter's Church, Broadway, Haverstraw, NY. Interment will follow at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY. GEORGE M.
