Kenneth G. Burke, 73, a resident of Purdys, NY and former resident of Tarrytown, NY passed away 7/13/16. Ken was born April 17, 1943 to the late George T. and Eleanor (Broderick) Burke. Ken attended Transfiguration, Tarrytown, NY, Stepinac, White Plains, NY and graduated from Irvington High School, Irvington, NY. Ken served in the U.S. Navy from 10/61 to 1/66 on board the U.S.S. William V. Pratt as a FTM2-Fire Control Technician Missileman Second Class. Mr. Burke graduated from the RCA Institute in NYC, NY. As a Sr. Electronic Technician,Ken worked for Norden, United Aircraft, Timex, Union Carbide and retired from USPS in 2007.On April 18,1970 Ken married Nancy Timmeny at St. Matthew's Church in Hastings- on- Hudson, NY.Ken is survived by his wife, Nancy, son, Kevin (Theresa) brother, William (Janet) sister-in-law, Betsey (Thomas), Karen Olson (Mark), Debbie Chichetti, Stephen Burke (Tina), Clare Blackmon (Frank), Kristin Jarvis (Jeff), Theresa Katz (Phil), Mark Burke. Ken is also survived by many great and great grand nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his brother, Thomas in 2005.Ken was a avid NY Yankee and Giants fan. He loved fishing, boating and camping in the Adirondacks. Ken enjoyed singing in the Garrison Chorale, coaching Kevin's travel baseball, never missing any of Kevin's a high school baseball games. A lover of the outdoors, Ken was in his glory planting flowers and trees as well as working on all sorts of household projects. More than anything Ken loved his family, especially family get togethers when he caused lots of laughter with his quick Irish Wit. Always wonderful to see the twinkle in Ken's eyes and know he was having fun.

The family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to the Somers Ambulance Corps., the medical staff of the Putnam Community Hospital E.R, the Cardiac Care Unit medical staff at Westchester Medical Center and Dr. Lev Davidson and nurse, Margaret Senate for their wonderful care, concern and many kindnesses extended to Ken and his family.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: International Myeloma - myeloma.org or a charity of choice. To honor Ken's life family and friends will gather on Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Mass Monday 10 AM Transfiguration Church, 268 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY followed by interment at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Tarrytown, NY.
