LAURA CALARCO Obituary

Laura Calarco, a lifelong resident of White Plains, passed away on April 8, 2007 at home. She was 88. One of eight children, Laura was born on August 11, 1918 in White Plains to the late John and Grace (Bianco) Magnotta. Laura married Salvatore Calarco on June 27, 1948 in White Plains. He predeceased her in 1995. Mrs. Calarco was a legal secretary for a private law firm before becoming the administrative assistant to the District Attorney in Westchester County for twenty years until her retirement. She was a member and past officer of the Antonio Mucci Lodge of White Plains. Laura was admired by all that knew her. Her compassion and love for her family was unconditional and will never be forgotten, especially by her nieces and nephews who will forever miss her. Although she had no children of her own, she was like a second mother to all her nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister, Josephine DiFedo of White Plains. She is predeceased by four brothers, Leo J., Joseph, Alphonso and Rocco Magnotta, and two sisters, Columbia and Margaret Magnotta. Reposing at McMahon, Lyon and Hartnett Funeral Home on Wednesday 5-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass Friday, 10 am, Mt. Carmel Church. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
