Leena Ulahannan Obituary
New Hartford - Leena Ulahannan, 64, of New Hartford, died suddenly April 9, 2018, at her home.
She was born in Athirampuzha, Kerala, India, and received her Master's Degree in English. She married Dr. Mathew Ulahannan in 1980 in India.
Leena worked as the office manager for her husband's medical practice.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford and was active locally in the Indian community. Before moving to New Hartford, she was a resident of Hartsdale, NY.
Leena is survived by her husband Dr. Mathew Ulahannan of New Hartford; her son John (Shoma) Ulahannan of Syracuse; her daughter Netha Ulahannan of New York City; her grandchildren Ajay and Aarian; her siblings; Alice John Pulickal, Jose Pandarakalam, Cherian Pandarakalam, Marykutty Madathikunnel, and Aniamma Kurichiyel and many nieces and nephews especially Ancy Davis
The visitation will be held on Friday April 13, 2018 from 10am-12pm at Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 72 East Main St. in Elmsford, NY. The funeral service will be at 12:30pm at St. John the Evangelist Church, 148 Hamilton Avenue, White Plains. The Burial will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery, White Plains, NY on Friday following the funeral mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Elmsford, NY.

I didn't know Lena well but am a patient of her husband, Dr. Ulahannan. I am reminded of her memory when I come into the office for my checkups. She would smile and say hello when she saw the patients. I have very sweet memories of her and I feel for the family as they adjust their lives after their loss. God Bless you all.

My sincere heartfelt prayers go out to Dr. Ulahannan & his family. Was so surprised to read of her passing. My last time seeing her was at Kohl's & I gave her a big hug. She said I'm a grandmother now & couldn't wait to show me a picture of her first grandchild. I shall always remember that bright smile on her face when showing the picture.
