DR. LEONARD A. KAUFMAN

Dr. Leonard A. Kaufman, of Croton-on Hudson and Hillsdale, NY, died on Monday, July 19., 1999 at Phelps Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kaufman was in practice in Ossining, NY, and served as Medical Director of Sky View Nursing Home and National Patent Corporation for over 25 years. He was an attending physician on the medical staff of Phelps Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. Raised in Brooklyn, NY, Dr. Kaufman served during World War II as a medic in the 104th Infantry Division. His unit landed on the Normandy beach soon after D-Day. After the war, he studied at Washington University Medical School in Saint Louis, MO. Dr. Kaufman is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joy; his children, Randy Hustvedt and Peter Kaufman; his daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Ann Waterfall and Eric Hustvedt; and his grandchildren, Emma and Willa Kaufman. Private funeral services were held on July 20, 1999. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY.
