Linda Cozzi Obituary

Cozzi, Linda M.

Linda M. Cozzi, Ph.D., age 67, of New York, NY and Greenwood Lake, NY, died April 9, 2012 at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Medical Center in Manhatan. She was born in New York City and attended Mt. Carmel School and St. Catharine Academy in the Bronx. Dr. Cozzi received her B.A. from Hunter College, M.A. from New York University and Ph.D. from Fordham University. She was a teacher and school psychologist in the NYC school system, and a clinical psychologist in private practice in Manhattan, Pelham, and Greenwood Lake, NY. She is survived by her husband, Saleh Sobhi-Fakhry; her mother, Frances Cozzi; her sister, Dr. Emilie A. Cozzi; and her brother, Robert Cozzi and his wife Maureen. Dr. Cozzi is also survived by two nieces, Lauren and Allison Cozzi and devoted friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her father, Mario Cozzi. Visitation Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Sinatra Funeral Home, 601 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday 11 am at Mt. Carmel Church, 627 East 187th St., Bronx, NY. Internment at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx. Donations in her memory can be made to the Pallottine Sisters, 98 Harriman Heights Road, Monroe, NY 10950, and to Leukemia Research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Medical Center, 1275 York Ave., New York, NY 10065.
