LOUIS MCINTYRE Obituary
Louis Francis Xavier McIntyre Jr. October 4, 1930 - November 9, 2009. Louis F McIntyre Jr. died peacefully at Northern Westchester Hospital after complications from a stroke suffered November 5, 2009. He was the beloved father to and survived by Dr. Louis F. McIntyre III and his wife Lizanne O'Toole of White Plains, Charles McIntyre and his wife Pilar Okeson of New York, NY; Brian McIntyre of Pleasantville, Timothy McIntyre of New York, NY and Maureen McAdams and her husband Dr. Tim McAdams of Brewster, Ma; and grandchildren, Dan and Jack Reynolds, Charlie McAdams, Aidan, Fallon, Tanner, Declan and Lachlan McIntyre. He was brother of Frank X. McIntyre and his wife Mitsuko of Palm Coast, Florida and predeceased by his sister, Nancy Ryan and her husband Jay Ryan of Kirkwood, Missouri; and uncle of many nieces, nephews, and their children. Louis was born in Scranton, Pa. the oldest child of Kathryn Wymbs and Louis F McIntyre Sr. He moved to White Plains and attended Iona College. He served his country proudly in the Korean War. He was married to Althea Kathleen Martin at Annunciation Church in Crestwood, NY in 1957 until her death in 2006. He followed his father into the insurance industry and served there his entire life earning the respect of all with his honesty and integrity, working for Marsh and McLennan, Schiff Terhune, MF Bank and Co, and lastly for Belfor. He was still a valued employee of Belfor at the time of his death. Louis was a devout parishioner, CCD teacher, Eucharistic minister and lector at Holy Innocence, Pleasantville, NY and St Andrew's, Block Island, RI. Louis will join his wife of 49 years, Althea Martin McIntyre, his sister Nancy McIntyre Ryan who predeceased earlier this year and grandaughter Fallon O'Toole McIntyre in a beautiful heaven. Louis spent his life immersed in his family in Westchester County and Block Island, Rhode Island. He was a loving Christian gentleman. He was guided by love of God, family and country. A wake of remembrance will be held at Maher Funeral Home in Pleasantville, NY on Thursday, November 12. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday morning, November 13 at Holy Innocence Church in Pleasantville.
