Louise Reisman Obituary

Louise Reisman (Cianciulli)

July 11, 1941 - January 26, 2021

Louise Reisman (Cianciulli), loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully in her home on January 26, 2021. She was 79 years young.

Louise, daughter of Antonio (Nick) Cianciulli and Dorothea Cianciulli (Francella) was born in 1941 and grew up in Mamaroneck, NY. A second generation Italian-American, Louise was proud of her Italian heritage and was just as proud of her Mamaroneck roots and being a graduate of Mamaroneck High School Class of 1959. Vivacious and enthusiastic, she was an honor roll student, varsity cheerleader, editor of the high school year book and member of the high school Glee Club.

After graduation, Louise attended Berkeley Business School where she excelled and went on to have a long and very successful 35 year career at IBM in Administration and Human Resources. Following her retirement from IBM, Louise became a successful realtor in Fairfield and Stratford, CT.

At IBM Louise developed life-long friendships and met her first husband, Richard J. Cottrell, Sr., with whom she had three children. In 2004, Louise married Bert Reisman with whom she spent 16 wonderful years, until her passing.

Louise is survived by her devoted and loving husband Bert, her younger sister Mary Ilardi (Cianciulli), three children Jeannie Cottrell, Richard J. Cottrell, Jr. and Jacqueline Cottrell (Steinberg), and her stepchildren Michael Reisman, Robin Reisman and Jodi Naber. Louise also leaves behind six grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom she loved more than anything else in this world and who absolutely adored their "Nonna".

Louise will be remembered for her vibrancy, warmth and beauty. She was kind, gentle, a fantastic cook (especially her meatballs) and a big hugger. A hug from Nonna would make any day better. She was fun and full of life and often seen driving to and from her grandchildren's schools and sporting events in her sporty little white convertible, 50's music blasting.

Louise loved singing and dancing and was known to have conquered every Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle ever published (and always did so in less time than it took Bert to finish the same puzzle). Louise and Bert shared their time between Stratford, CT and Scottsdale, AZ where Louise was a devoted member of The Boulders for over 20 years. She loved traveling, playing golf, watching basketball and lived for spending time with her family. She adored her family. Louise was a shining light to all who knew her.

A private celebration of Louise's life will be held in her honor in the spring and the family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the ALS Association at www.als.org.
